This book has been the key to my success with low carbing! When I first
started LC, I was gung ho for the basics... I couldn't get enough scrambled
eggs, steak, and cheeseburgers without the bun. I was in heaven! Soon, however,
heaven turned into purgatory as I started dreaming about fruit and thinking
about stealing candy from my own kids! Then Dana came to the rescue with
this incredible book!
-
Chocolate or sweets craving? She's got it covered and then some. Need
something salty and crunchy? Check! Need an entree that will please your
non low-carbing husband and kids but still keep you on target? You betcha.
She's covered everything from soup to nuts, LITERALLY! If you're bored on
any of the LC diets, then you need to get Dana's book RIGHT NOW.

I bought 3 books in one day....this book was one of them. I use this book
more then I use any other cookbook that I have for low carb cooking. The
Magic rolls are wonderful. The Pasta is worth the extra effort. I have to
honestly say that I have not tried one recipe that I did not like! I wish
they would come out with a book for candy & sweets. I don't eat them
often, but with Christmas coming I would love some good candy recipes to
get me through the holidays without cheating!

Country Egg, City Egg
-
by Gayle Pirie, John Clark, Rollin McGrail (Illustrator) / Hardcover - 128
pages
-
List Price: $15.95 ~ Your Price: $12.76
-
Describing eggs as "the ultimate and purest fast food," Gayle Pirie and John
Clark set off on an enticing culinary journey through 78 recipes with whimsical
drawings adding to the fun. These two former chefs at San Francisco's popular
Zuni Cafe know better than anyone that eggs make quick, perfect food for
any time of day or night. Now they share their favorite recipes in Country
Egg, City Egg. This wonderfully inspired, sweetly illustrated cookbook grew
out of the seven years Pirie and Clark spent thinking about and cooking eggs
for Zuni's brunch menu. Here, they reveal how to make splendid little meals
with little fuss-from rustic dishes like eggs baked in braised-mashed potatoes
to smooth and sleek dishes like caviar and scrambled eggs. From summer eggs
to winter eggs, uptown city eggs and farmhouse country eggs, there's something
for everyone.

Book of Crepes and Omelets
-
by Mary Norwak, Steven Wheeler, Jan Thiesen (Editor) / Paperback (April 1988)
-
List Price: $12.00 ~ Your Price: $9.60
-
This is a straightforward, thorough collection of basic recipes for those
most elegant of food packages, crepes and omelets. Norwak begins with brief
instructions on how to season and maintain the crepe and omelet pan, essential
for proper and easy cooking, then moves on to techniques how to cook, how
to keep the first crepes out of a batch fresh, how to fold and serve them.
Eight basic recipes are used, from cornmeal crepes to whole wheat to blini.
Fillings run the gamut from appetizers like smoked salmon and lemon to quick
main course renditions to all sorts of desserts on beyond Suzette. The omelet
chapter covers the familiar flat French omelet as well as sweet souffle omelets
and Spanish tortilla omelets. The recipes are consistently quick and simple,
often with a French or Italian cast.
-
UnDiet Notes: Don't forget to substitute soy flour for the wheat flour
in the crepe recipes.
