John O'Leary was introduced to wood carving in 1985. He has studied carving techniques of such masters as Jim Wicks, Willie McDonald and Pietro Vinotti. John's carving style ranges from life-like to antique and folk. Collectors throughout the United States, as well as Europe and Africa, have enjoyed his works.

John teaches wood carving in his specially outfitted studio. His humor and teaching style draw students who travel as much as three hours each way for his weekly woodcarving classes. If you're interested in attending one of his classes you're welcome to send him an email.

John and his wife Jody own Homestead Wood Shop in Eaton Rapids, Michigan. Gallery visits are by appointment only (or if you're driving by and see John's truck you're welcome to stop in). If you'd like to visit the gallery send John an email with the dates you'll be in town.
